Hiring District Employees as Consultants

    Timeframe: one to two weeks

     

    Process

    A current employee can not be hired as an independent contractor, but they can be hired as a consultant in a secondary position.

     

    Criteria

    • Independent contractor candidate is a current district employee
    • Current employee is interested in picking up a secondary position with a grant or project

     

    Steps

    1. Hiring manager enters an employee requisition in PeopleSoft
    2. Current/active employees, send Supplemental and Hourly Pay form directly to payroll
