Budget Information

  • One of our guiding values for contract negotiations is working within our budget while meeting financial obligations. For fiscal year 2025 (FY25), Saint Paul Public Schools is planning for a budget shortfall of $150 million. This shortfall will impact many areas of our district operations, including how much money we are able to invest in employee wages and benefits, which account for 80% of our expenses as a school district.

For our current round of contract negotiations, we have budgeted $17.9 million for increases to wages and benefits across all employee groups. Of that total, the amount budgeted for the Saint Paul Federation of Educators (SPFE), our largest employee group representing Teachers, Educational Assistants and School and Community Services Personnel, is $12.4 million.
