Where To Go for Thanksgiving Meals, Events, Service Opportunities

  • Thanksgiving is being recognized on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Saint Paul Public Schools will be closed Nov. 24-25. It is common for local organizations to serve free or low costs holiday meals on Thanksgiving.
     
    Union Gospel Mission: Throughout the year  the Union Gospel Mission serves a hearty meal for people in need. This year its annual Thanksgiving dinner is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the upstairs chapel of the Men’s campus (435 University Ave. E., St. Paul).     Salvation Army: The Salvation Army will be cooking up turkey, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and other food at:
    • Meals will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Harbor Light, located at 1010 Currie Ave., Minneapolis.
  
    Loaves and Fishes: Several sites will serve dinner on the holiday. Call 612-377-9810 for more information.
