All EHS classes will be online for the 2023-2024 school year. Please reach out to your counselor to enroll in EHS. Non-SPPS counselors please use the referral form on our website (ehs.spps.org) to enroll students. Send the completed form by email to eleanor.clemmons@spps.org.

Welcome to Evening High School
- Evening High School (EHS) provides students with the opportunity to complete coursework and recover credits necessary for high school graduation.
- Students must be in grades 11 or 12.
- Classes are online using Schoology.
- Core courses required for graduation are taught by licensed teachers.
- Students complete course requests that are reviewed, approved and/or adjusted as needed by school counselors.
Students must meet minimum age requirements (16 years old) and ALC program eligibility criteria to register for EHS classes. High School Counselors refer students to the EHS program and recommend/request the courses necessary for students to meet high school graduation requirements.

- Quarter 1: October 9 - November 2, 2023
- Quarter 2: December 11 - January 18, 2024
- Quarter 3: February 26 - March 21, 2024
- Quarter 4: May 6 - May 23, 2024

Welcome to Evening High School.
I have worked for Saint Paul Public Schools since 1998 as a teacher, assistant principal and principal. The first 16 years of my SPPS career were dedicated to elementary education. In the Fall of 2014, I made the transition from elementary to secondary education at Gordon Parks High School.
Evening High School is focused on providing students with the opportunity to learn, complete coursework, and recover credits required for high school graduation.
I am looking forward to a rewarding, successful school year with our learners.

Students who are currently enrolled in a Saint Paul Public School and wish to enroll in Evening High School (EHS) need to contact their high school counselor. Students who attend a charter school or a school outside of the Saint Paul Public Schools district will need to download the referral form below. Non-SPPS Counselors should email the completed referral form to eleanor.clemmons@spps.org.
NOTE: If a student has never attended a Saint Paul Public School, they will need to go to the Student Placement Center at 2102 University Ave W or call 651-632-3760 to obtain an SPPS student ID number.

Weather Plan
The decision to close the school system due to extreme winter weather conditions is no simple matter. The safety and well being of students and staff is our top priority. The expectation is that schools will remain open, if at all possible, for uninterrupted student learning on scheduled school days.Before a decision is made to close Saint Paul Public Schools, Superintendent Joe Gothard consults with a variety of experts both within and outside of the district. Throughout this process, we are committed to keeping our community informed of the latest actions as it pertains to the weather and possibilities of school closings and cancellations.Please note, during inclement weather we are continually monitoring the situation. Our goal is to provide you and your families with the best and most up-to-the-minute information possible.As the annual season of snow is now upon us, here is pertinent information that families need to know:- School closures will be made public as soon as possible.
- Check the district’s website at https://www.spps.org/home for the most up-to-the minute updates.
- Check your individual school websites for current updates.
- A pre-recorded voice message will be on the district’s main number alerting callers of the closure.
- Families will also receive voicemail messages on their phones – please make sure the school has your current phone numbers.
- Tune in to local media – broadcast, print and online for information on school closures.
- Remember it is critical to check the district website daily during winter weather incidents that may span beyond one day.
What if schools are open but it is snowing heavily during the morning hours?- The schools will dismiss at their usual times.
- Cancellation announcements of afterschool activities, early childhood special education classes, afternoon pre-kindergarten (4-year-old) programs, evening activities and field trips will be made as early as possible. Our goal is to make our decision public as soon as possible.
- The buildings will be staffed until all students have left for the day.
- Check the district’s website at https://www.spps.org/home for the most up-to-the minute updates.
- Check your individual school websites for current updates.

What if schools are open and it is continuously snowing with projections of a heavy snowfall as it gets later into the day?- Cancellation announcements of afterschool activities, evening activities and field trips will be made as early as possible. Barring unforeseen circumstances, our goal is to make our decision public as soon as possible.
- Schools will dismiss at their usual times – no early releases.
- Buildings will be staffed until all students have left for the day.

Other information worth noting:- Delayed start times are not logistically feasible in Saint Paul Public Schools.
- In order to ensure students’ safe transport home to their families, early dismissal times are not logistically possible in Saint Paul Public Schools.
- The Superintendent may decide to close schools because of extreme wind chill conditions. The same protocol as listed above will be followed.
- Outside recess activities are cancelled at zero degrees temperature and/or wind chill.
