    SPPS employees shall not have a personal financial interest, directly or through a family member, including his or her partner, in a sale, lease or contract.

    Conflict of Interest Examples

    • Prizes received at a conference, when attending as an SPPS employee
    • Free lunch at a vendor operated workshop or event
    • Awarding a construction bid to a family member’s company

     

    Criteria

    Any employee, officer, or agent of the district with a personal stake in a purchase or agreement must not:

    • Approve or recommend the contract, sale or lease
    • Directly or indirectly influence the purchasing decision
    • Be involved in the purchasing process
