Cell Biology is a semester-long laboratory course that studies cells, the chemistry of life and the history and nature of science. Lessons will be taught that enable the student to understand how cells function. How does a cell control water? How do cells replicate? How do cells grow? Students investigate various problems and study current issues through laboratory activities, scientific inquiry, projects and independent work. Students will prepare lab reports, study the textbook, and complete assignments on a regular basis. This course prepares students to be scientifically literate as well as prepare them for future biology and science classes. It is designed to be taken in 9th grade.
