James Hoard grew up in northern minnesota.  He attended Grand Rapids High School and furthered his studies at Augsburg College.  He wrestled for Augsburg and was a member of two National Championship teams.  It was at Augsburg where he earned a BA in health and physical education.  He  adopted his philosophy "The pursuit of excellence while building men" from Jeff Swenson, the head wrestling coach at Augsburg.  This philosophy has driven Mr. Hoard to develop young men and women and give them the tools to become successful in the world when they leave his classroom.  The goal is for his students to be able to withstand any obstacle they encounter in life and make healthy decisions.  Mr. Hoard and his students focus on 1% improvement each day.  That means you can improve almost 90% in one semester.
