Hello! My name is Caitlin Gill and I am one of the social workers at Washington. I am entering my eleventh year at Washington, my second year as a social worker. Previously, I worked as a special education teacher and work-based learning coordinator. I have taught a wide variety of special education courses over the years, and have enjoyed the transition to social work.

A little about my background; I studied Psychology at the University of St Thomas for my undergraduate degree. Immediately after my undergraduate degree, I pursued a Masters in Special Education at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. At the University of Minnesota, I obtained my teaching license in emotional/behavior disorders (EBD) and learning disabilities (LD). Three years later, I returned to the University of Minnesota to add a work-based learning license. After nine years into my career as a teacher, I returned to school again to pursue my dream of becoming a social worker. I obtained my Masters in Social Work at the Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. I hold a license as a Licensed Graduate Social Work (LGSW) and am working toward my licensure to be a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker  (LICSW).

In my role as a social worker, I worked with students to help them with social/emotional learning. This includes working on skills such as self-awareness, self-management, social skills, relationship skills, responsible decision making, conflict management, and so much more. I enjoy working with students 1:1, in small groups, and pushing in to the classroom.

Outside of school, I love to read, camp, travel, play games, and spend time with my partner and family.
