Welcome to Ms. Neihart's Physical Education class!

  • Hello! I teach grades 6/7/8 Physical Education at Washington. I also have taught Jr. High and High School Health and PE. I have been Physical Education and Health teacher at Washington since 1998! I guess you could say that I am a committed Washington Eagle!

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My favorite thing to do is to spend time with my family. I have 3 children who love to play sports and I am very busy going to all of their sporting events. One reason why I wanted to become a Physical Education teacher is because I also love sports and being active! I am currently the Washington Junior Varsity and C Squad Badminton Coach which is an awesome sport to participate in! I also teach a swimming class as an elective for our students here. Many students have benefited from the swimming class and now have a lifelong skill that they can enjoy.

A little bit about my academic background starts with graduating from White Bear Lake High School in 1990. From there I was able to attend Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD on a softball scholarship. I graduated from Augustana University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. My first teaching job was in Eden Prairie at EPHS and Central Middle School. From there, I moved on to St. Paul Public Schools and my job at Washington.   While teaching at Washington I was able to earn my Master's Degree at St. Mary's University as well as obtaining a Principal Licensure from St. Mary's University.
