Hello to all my ELL Students and families.

I am Ms. Mercier.

I am happy to teach ELA 10, Physical Science with Language and Biology with a Biology teacher. The variety of student backgrounds and levels at Washington is both challenging and exciting. I am fortunate to work with such ambitious, talented students.

I began my teaching career as a high school ELA teacher in Maryland. After moving to Minnesota with my family I studied to become an ELL teacher. Over the years I have taught ELL and ELA at many levels and in many schools. My experience includes middle school, high school and college level classes.

In addition to school work, I pursue my interests in outdoor activities- especially hiking and gardening – as well as writing and enjoying time with my family and friends. I love reading science as well as poetry and fiction as often as I can.
