Hi everyone!  My name is Alexa and I am super excited to be back at Washington as a teacher after working here for 2 years as a teaching assistant with the special education program.  I attended the University of Minnesota and have a degree in Sociology of Law, as well as a Master's degree from the University of Saint Thomas, where I was part of the SUTR program from 2019-2020.  I served as an AmeriCorps member in the Minneapolis Public School system for 2 years before coming across the river to Saint Paul, and Washington has felt like home ever since!  

My ultimate goal as an educator is to encourage all of my students to be as independent, successful, and authentically themselves as possible.  Every student has different strengths and needs, and I'm excited to learn all about my students and see how far they go!
