ELL Level 1 Language Development and Reading is a course for beginning English Language Learners.  These newcomers have less than two years in the United States, and this course helps students quickly acquire survival language skills and vocabulary to meet everyday life in their new environment.  In addition, ELL 1 focuses on building beginning strong literacy skills in academic reading, writing, speaking, and listening.  Students will receive intensive instruction in reading and writing.

This course focuses on skills and strategies to make progress toward the WIDA Language Standards in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
