  • Algebra 1 is normally taken during 8th grade and covers the first half of the Algebra book.  After taking this course, students will be prepared to take Intermediate Algebra in 9th grade.

In Algebra I we focus on understanding and solving algebraic equations.  We learn to solve equations and inequalities.  Much of the year is spent on linear algebra including graphing, slope, forms of linear equations, and systems.  We also learn about exponents, square roots, the Pythagorean Theorem and distance formula.
