What words of advice would you give incoming freshman?

What words of advice would you give incoming freshman?
The learning environment of an accelerated class and of a non-accelerated class is extremely important. Do not say “I don’t want to take the hard class because I’m not smart enough.” Realize that everyone in those difficult classes wants to be there and use that to help you.

What words of advice would you give incoming freshman?
High school is the beginning of a long journey, but it's an important time nonetheless. In short, the effort you put into high school - academically or otherwise - is what you're going to get back. The truth, equal parts terrifying and enthralling, is that the choice is yours.

What words of advice would you give incoming freshman?
Look at what you want to become and what you want to do, and do what you have to do to get there. Make a plan, but be open to change. Don’t let your peers or school staff pressure you into doing things you don’t want to do. Be brave and have fun.

What words of advice would you give incoming freshman?
Ask questions. Practice. Experiment. Fall flat on your face and spring back up. Being involved is the best way to learn. But if you don't care about it, skip it. It's your ship, as long as you have food, a destination, and the basis of how to get there, then it's smooth sailing.

What words of advice would you give incoming freshman?
Enjoy the moment, if you get caught up in the drama of everyone else, you’ll miss out on the important moments in life. Step back and take a second to enjoy yourself and the people you care about. Do what you feel is best for you and your future, regardless of what others think.

What words of advice would you give incoming freshman?
Don't be afraid to fail! I encourage everyone to fail as many times as possible. Being afraid of failing is the same as being afraid of success. When choosing the easy way out, you get the hard way in life. Instead, choose the hard way out and get the easy way in life.

What words of advice would you give incoming freshman?
Know your limits and take care of your mental state before anything else. Always make the best of everything and stay true to yourself. Remember that there is more to life than a good grade and that your best will always be good enough even if someone says different.
