Celebration of Excellence 2019

    Below is the information regarding this year’s Celebration of Excellence Senior Honors event that recognizes the top academic graduates in Saint Paul Public Schools. Please read through this and the student information carefully.

    Event: Celebration of Excellence – 2019 Senior Honors Event

    Date/Time: Monday, April 29, 2019, 7 p.m.

    Place: University of St. Thomas, Anderson Student Center, 2115 Summit Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55105

    NOTE: Students are expected to arrive no later than 6:40 p.m. The event will conclude around 9 p.m. Students and families should plan to stay for the entire event.

    Parking: Parking is available in Anderson Parking facility at Grand Ave. and Cretin Ave. for $1.50 per hour.

    Food: Desserts and beverages will be served.

    Dress: Please remind students that this is a business formal event and all attendees should dress appropriately.

    Audience: Guests should be limited to parents, stepparents, guardians and/or grandparents. Because of the length and focus of this event, it may not be the best idea for younger children to attend. We do understand that sometimes this is hard to avoid. The event will be rebroadcast on Saint Paul cable TV channel 16 for those who are unable to attend the event or for those who may wish to record the event as a keepsake. Rebroadcast times/dates will be listed in the event program.

    Tickets will be required for all guests other than Principals and honored students and staff members. The Office of Communications, Marketing & Development will mail invitations to parent(s)/guardian(s) and to the student’s chosen honored staff member. The event representative at each school will distribute TWO tickets to each student for their guests.

    Photos: Students are asked to provide a high-resolution close-up and a candid photo. A yearbook photo is preferred for the close-up photo. The candid photo may be from any period of the student’s life and may include friends and/or family, however, the student must be present in the photo. Please ensure that all photos are appropriate for display at a public event. All photos should be submitted electronically. Students should attach their photo when they submit their form.

    Important: Students need to fill out an information form online and submit photos by April 10, 2019. Go to www.spps.org/celebrationofexcellence to access the form and photo submission information.

    The Office of Communications, Marketing & Development is coordinating this event, including invitations, tickets, programs, entertainment, gifts and other details.
