Saint Paul Public Schools had an impressive turnout for the Regional History Day Contest at Johnson Senior High School. The assignment for this year’s History Day competition was to tell a story from history that invokes both triumph and tragedy.
Six hundred students in grades 6-12 entered the Regional History Day contest to compete in five categories including exhibit board, website, documentary, live performance and paper.
The top entries advanced to the state competition May 4 at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. The top two entries from the state competition in each category will be invited to compete in the National History Day Contest in College Park, Maryland this summer.
