Concurrent College Enrollment

  • Yan

Through partnerships with the University of Minnesota (called “College in the Schools”) and Saint Paul College, students can take and potentially earn credit for free introductory-level college classes in their own high schools.

Eligible students will have the ability to take individual college courses, or an identified set of courses needed for completion of specific academic pathways.

In the last school year, 524 SPPS students taking Concurrent College Enrollment classes received 3,354 college credits -- worth around $1.5 million that they didn’t have to pay in college tuition.

The students got these credits for free -- and Concurrent College Enrollment is just one way to earn college credits in SPPS.

Concurrent College Enrollment is offered at:

    • Central High School
    • Como Park Senior High School
