Courses are taught by licensed Saint Paul Public School teachers.

Transitioning in and out of the Juvenile Detention Center
Time at the detention center is temporary.
During the first days of placement, members of the transition team will meet with you and your child to get background information on school history, learning strengths, future career/school goals, immediate/long-term learning needs and community support.
Working with you and your child, the team develops an action plan of prioritized goals to support learning during and after placement at JDC.
We want to make sure that your child is provided with a/an:
- updated transcript
- clear understanding of next steps towards a high school diploma
- list of current and potential community mentors and support services. [We are able to arrange professional virtual visits with home school counselors, social workers, teachers, administrators and community mentors].
After release, Timothy Dopson, our transition coordinator, continues to support and ensure successful re-enrollment in the home school.
Our goal is to ensure that all students are confident and prepared to make better decisions and graduate.
