2018- 2020 (Ms. Xue Xiong)

  • Ms. Xiong

Ms. Xiong served as the ACC advisor during the school years of 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. Although she moved to a different school in the SPPS school district, she still maintains connections with ACC members. She loves hearing about ACC's events and accomplishments.

Ms. BolopueMs. Lauren Bolopue, in 2019 stepped in as an ACC advisor for Ms. Xiong during her maternity leave.

Ms. Bethany McGraw (2015-2018)

  • Ms. McGraw

Ms. McGraw encouraged the club to be 100% student led. The students encouraged each other to  explore all aspects of the Asian continent as well as brought the Asian new year celebration- an all school event that taught students about various New Years traditions in Asian cultures. The ACC also started the schools annual cultural day- a celebration of the vast cultures represented at our school through music, food, and dance.

Ms. Shu-Whei Miao (2009 - 2015) 繆淑惠

  • Ms. Miao

I started to serve as the advisor of the ACC in 2009. This club was very dynamic. It organized many school-wide activities, such as Hmong New Year Celebration, Valentine's Day fund raising activities, Chinese New Year celebrations, and talent shows, etc. The students in this club were very talented and active. There were many weekly participants, at least 30 students, sometimes even 50 people, gathered in my classroom for their after-school meeting every week.

I enjoyed this club very much. At that time, many of the members of the club were also students of my Chinese classes. Later, because our Chinese Department established the Chinese Immersion Program in 2016. I removed my responsibility of the ACC advisor in 2015.

Ms. Marissa Bonk (2006 - 2009)

  • Ms. Bonk

I enjoyed being a part of ACC!  We held regular meetings to form connections, celebrate cultures, learn leadership skills, and plan events.  We focused mainly on the Hmong New Year performance, the Valentine's day fundraiser (so many balloons, candies, flowers!), and a pot luck.  It was nice to be surrounded with such a great group of hardworking, fun, caring, and welcoming kids.
