Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Department

  • Welcome to the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (AFNR) Department of Highland Park Senior High School!

Students who take classes in the AFNR department will learn about all the areas of agriculture, including plants, animals, food, leadership, and the environment. Depending on their chosen course, students will learn hands-on skills, such as how to grow and propagate plants, how to make food, and how to be a leader in their communities. The AFNR program at Highland Park gives students a head start on preparing for a career and college.

Courses offered in the AFNR Department include:

    • Introduction to Agriculture
    • Sustainable Food Production
    • AFNR Biotechnology
    • Environmental Horticulture
    • Landscape Design

All courses are offered to students in grades 9-12 and are one semester long.
