My name is Colleen Hinz and I am a special education teacher at Highland! This is my second year teaching at Highland and my 10^th year teaching for Saint Paul Public Schools. Prior to coming to Highland, I taught at Battle Creek Middle School and Journeys Secondary School. I teach Reading and Study Skills, and also co-teach Algebra. I received my undergraduate degree in Social Studies Education from Augustana University (Sioux Falls, SD) and my master’s degree in Special Education from Saint Mary’s University (Minneapolis, MN). In my free time, I enjoy camping, reading, and adventuring with my kids! In the summer, I enjoy playing keeper for the Holyhead Harpies Quidditch Team. The Harpies are an all-female team that is based in Wales, and is a part of the British and Irish Quidditch League.
