Welcome everyone! My name is Matt McKinney and this is my 13th year at Highland Park High School. I’m excited to not only be a part of this great school but to be a part of the community as well.  We recently moved to St. Paul and have been loving our experience.

As we dive into learning to start this year the courses I will be teaching are Biology and Accelerated Biology. Science has always fascinated me and I hope to instill that fascination and curiosity in my students.  In addition to science I am also an Assistant Nordic Ski Coach for Highland Park.  Skiing is a great way to be active in the winter and we work with students of all abilities to make them become lifelong skiiers. 

I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Education at Augsburg University.

I am also an avid outdoors person. I love canoeing, camping, hunting, and fishing. I am looking forward to getting to know the Highland Park Community, the students and their families.
