I started teaching at Highland in 2001. I teach Computer Science and Engineering. I coach Cross Country Running and Nordic Skiing.

Hobbies: running, skiing, bow hunting, fishing, cycling and attempting to achieve sudo.

I graduated from Blaine High School in 1986 and from the University of Notre Dame in 1990 (BS in Mechanical Engineering). I was in Navy ROTC at Notre Dame and after graduation, I served four years as a Naval Officer on a frigate(USS Cook) and on a cruiser (USS Vicksburg). After the Navy, I worked as an Environmental Engineer, mostly in soil remediation and wastewater treatment. I attended the University of Minnesota and earned a Masters in Civil/Environmental Engineering. I received my teaching license at the University of St. Thomas.
