Student Supports

Student Services
  • "We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future." - Franklin D. Roosevelt

At Jackson, we care about the growth of the whole child. We support our students development academically, emotionally, socially and physically. The following is a list of services and programs that we provide for Jackson students, families and the community.

    Special Education
Jackson special education teachers work with students from all grade levels who have a wide range of needs. These include academic needs, emotional and behavioral concerns, heath related issues, and vision, hearing or physical impairments.

    Multilingual Learning
Our language program provides additional English language development and instruction for students whose home language is other than English. Children who are new to the country or need English language development participate in Language Academy. Beginning in first grade, the academy enables students to interact with their native English-speaking peers to build language skills and relationships.

    Hmong Dual Language Program
The goal of Dual Language Programs is for students to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural. In two-way immersion programs, English-speaking students and students who speak the partner language learn together.

    Hlub Zoo
Hlub Zoo, meaning “love well, grow well,” is a culturally specific, school-based mental health program for Hmong children provided through the Children and Family Mental Health Services division of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation.
