Special Education

  • Jackson special education teachers work with students from all grade levels who have a wide range of needs. These include academic needs, emotional and behavioral concerns, heath related issues, and vision, hearing or physical impairments. The special education team provides support to Jackson students. We currently provide services for students with the following disabilities: developmental delays, other health disabilities, specific learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disabilities, autism, physical impairment, speech/language, and vision and hearing impairment.

At Jackson, we focus on a collaborative approach where special education staff works closely with general education staff while keeping the individual needs of the students and their individualized education plan at the forefront. High expectations are a must for ALL students. At Jackson, student progress and success is a must! We offer a continuum of services where we believe in both the push in and pull out approaches while keeping the least restrictive environment in mind.
