  • Welcome to Jackson Elementary! I’m excited to have each student here as a community of learners that daily invest themselves to attain more knowledge. Building upon student interests and skills allows students to be the leaders of the future.  The culture of Jackson is the blending of a Hmong Dual Language and Community School where diversity is welcomed and celebrated daily.  I feel honored to assist in the leadership and education of our students and staff.

My career spans over thirty years and includes teaching at all levels from birth to precollege.  My elementary education experience includes being a classroom teacher for third and fifth grades, supplemental teacher, team teacher, academic support, gifted and talented education and coordination of several programs. I’ve worked with adult education, GED and adult ESL. I’ve taught in St. Paul Public Schools, Anoka Hennepin School District and  districts outside the metro area.

I graduated from University of North Dakota with a BS in Elementary Education and Science, earned my Masters from University of St. Thomas in Curriculum & Instruction, GT certification from UST, and will graduate in May with my Principal licensure from St. Mary’s University in Minneapolis.  I love taking classes and consider myself a perpetual learner!

I have six grown children with my youngest being a junior in college, along with seven grandchildren.  I enjoy traveling, singing, scrapbooking, being with my large family, meeting new people, meeting old friends, and challenging myself to make a difference in the world.

Everyday is a gift and I want to positively contribute at school, home or community.  I look forward to the year ahead at Jackson and all that awaits.  I believe each child has the potential to contribute to our world and hope to foster that learning and belief in themselves each day as they enter Jackson Elementary School.
