In second grade we study American history and world cultures, including the U.S. Constitution, the War of 1812, Native American cultures and Westward Expansion, the Civil War and the Underground Railroad, Immigration, Civil Rights Leaders, India, China, Japan, Ancient Greece and geography.  For many second graders, social studies is their favorite subject!  We do many wonderful projects and activities throughout the year.  Students discuss and learn about great issues and ideas as well as discuss multiple perspectives about history and the world.
