Mrs. Sturm

Meet Mrs. Sturm

Hello, my name is Mrs. Sturm! This year I will be your WINN Reading Teacher for grades K-2.  I have been teaching and working with students in Saint Paul Public Schools since 1998!   From sixth grade, to third grade, second grade and now as a reading teacher, I love building relationships with my students and their families!   I feel really proud to be a part of the Randolph Heights family!   My own two boys attended Randolph Heights Elementary School too because of the high academic rigor and the strong community feeling that is offered here.  I live just down the street so I feel very invested in this close-knit community!  I believe in working closely with families in order to ensure that my students have a successful year!

This year I will be both in classrooms and with students in the library assisting them with many reading skills.  From letter names and sounds, to sight words and building reading fluency and strong comprehension skills, students will be supported in building lifelong literacy foundations to help make them better students in all subject areas!

I live with my husband and twin boys.  I spent my childhood growing up in Anchorage, Alaska where I went sledding or ice skating at recess.   I also lived in Portland, Oregon for about 10 years and I still go back to visit my family there.  I love spending time on the Oregon Coast and looking for shells or agates.  In the summertime, you will find my family and I in Wisconsin.  We like to fish off the dock, relax in the Yellow River in Wisconsin, go for a ride on our pontoon, paddleboard, or swim in the beautiful lakes.

Stop by my library corner and meet our pet Betta fish, Bob!  Bob is everyone's favorite!   He is a male Betta fish and he loves helping students to read!
