Community of STARS

Learning to Care
  •

Randolph Heights uses the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework to nurture a community of caring and mutual respect. Randolph Heights teaches schoolwide behavior expectations using specific, kid-friendly language to encourage students to be Safe, Thoughtful, Active, Responsible, and Successful, or STARS. During award ceremonies throughout the year, all students are recognized for demonstrating STARS behavior by their teachers.

Using PBIS initiatives, students' social emotional needs are met proactively, reducing the need for reactive behavior management.  Through Zones of Regulation, Randolph Heights is able to provide common language across grade levels and equitable access to tools and strategies to self-regulate and be their best.

Randolph Heights was named a 2019 Sustained Exemplar PBIS School by the Minnesota Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports State Leadership Team.
