Hello AIMS Community!!! This will be my tenth year at American Indian Magnet School and I absolutely love working with the youth and their families who attend our school. It's my seventeenth year working with St. Paul Public Schools' families. My culture comes from my Nakota and EuroAmerican ancestors. My father is an enrolled member of the Yankton Reservation(Ihanktonwan Nation) in South Dakota and my mother is related to President Eisenhower. I graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelor's in Science and a Social Studies Teaching Licensure.  I have taught 6th through 12th grade throughout my career, but I enjoy middle school the most!

I currently live in River Falls, WI with my two children.  On the weekends we enjoy being outside, live music, dancing, disc golfing, reading, and watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers!

I look forward to a successful year of learning and fun. I hope to incorporate music, art, and technology skills whenever it can help connect students to historical events.  My favorite learning activity is History Day. Students will have the opportunity to create a website, exhibit, documentary, or write a script and perform about a topic in the history of their choice and showcase their research in really creative ways! I encourage families to help their scholars brainstorm topics that would be really interesting.
