About me

My name is Lisa DeCory and my pronouns are She/Her.  I have been teaching 3rd grade at AIMS since 2017. I am an enrolled member of the Lakota Rosebud Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. I recieved my Bacholor of Science degree in Education from Metropolitan State University in the Urban Education Program. Before becoming and educator I worked 15 years with runaway and homeless youth in the Twin Cities. As a former student of AIMS I am so proud to be back as a edcuator and working within my community. I believe all students should feel safe and valued in thier learning environment and the diversity amongst us at AIMS is our greatest strength.

I am a mother to four amazing teenagers and live on the East side of St.Paul. In my freetime I enjoy spending time with my family, nature, beading, movies and attending Pow-Wows and ceremonies with my children. I love the stars and enjoy teaching student's about Indigenous star constellations and stories. I look forward to working with you and have so much gratitude for the beauty and knowledge each student brings to the classroom.
