Middle School Social Worker

My name is Maggie Sandvig and I am the middle school social worker here at American Indian Magnet School. I have been a Licensed Social worker since 2021, which is where I began my career in St. Paul Public Schools. I strive to make my work community-based, and focused on the strengths of each individual. Here at AIMS, I work with all middle school students, both who receive special education services and who do not receive specialized services, but may need additional support with social skills and/or mental health. I meet both individually and in groups with students.

When I am not working, I love to spend time with my niece and nephew, play board games with friends, and spend as much time as possible outside on my bike or in my running shoes. I am always trying to work best to support students and families, and I know the best way to do that is through building relationships.
