Estimados Padres de Familia/Apoderados, 

¡Hola y bienvenidos al segundo grado!  Siempre me emociono al empezar un nuevo año escolar y en conocer a su hija/o.  Espero desarrollar una asociación que hará que este año escolar sea un éxito para usted y su hija/o en el tercer grado. 

Me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para presentarme.  Mi nombre es Andrea Marcy y aquí en la escuela soy Sra. Marcy. Este año será mi trigésimo año enseñando, veintisiete de ellos aquí en Adams Spanish Immersion.  Me críe en una familia bilingüe con madre Chilena y padre Minnesotano.  En casa, nuestras conversaciones fueron muy interesantes ya que era común para mi hermana y yo cambiar a mitad de frase del inglés al español y viceversa. 

Me crie en Quito, Ecuador y me mudé a Minnesota en donde recibí mi licenciatura de la Universidad de Hamline y luego mi maestría de la Universidad de Saint Mary's.  Mi primer trabajo fue en el Sur Pacífico en la isla de Guam. Viví allí durante tres años y enseñé primer grado. A partir de ahí volví a Minnesota y comencé a enseñar aquí en Adams. Espero que esto les dé una idea de donde vengo y quien soy. 

Una vez más, estoy deseosa en conocer a usted y su hija/o y verlos crecer académicamente y socialmente este nuevo año escolar. 

Mi deseo para todos es que este año escolar sea seguro y muy divertido,

P.D.  Favor de no usar perfumes.  Yo tengo asma y los perfumes me causan ataques; algunos de mis ataques han sido severos.  Respetuosamente les pido que ni usted o su hija/o se pongan perfumes a la escuela.  Muchísimas gracias pro su cooperación.

Dear Parents/Guardians,  

Hello and welcome to second grade!  I am so excited about starting the new school year and meeting your children.  I look forward to developing a partnership that will make the year a success for you and your child in third grade. 

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Andrea Marcy and go by Sra. Marcy.  This will be my thirtieth-year teaching, twenty-seven of them here at Adams Spanish Immersion.  I grew up in a bilingual family; Chilean and Minnesotan parents.  Conversations in our house were quite interesting since it was common for my sister and me to switch from English to Spanish and vice versa in mid-sentence.   

I grew up in Quito, Ecuador and then moved to MN where I received my bachelor’s degree from Hamline University and then my Masters degree from Saint Mary's University. My first job was in the South Pacific on the island of Guam. I lived there for three years and taught first grade.  From there I moved back to Minnesota and started teaching here at Adams.  

I hope this gives you an idea of my background. Once again, I am looking forward to meeting you and your child and seeing your child grow both academically and socially this upcoming school year.
