BIENVENIDOS AL KINDER

Queridos padres y tutores,

Mi nombre es Laura R. Ferraro y seré la maestra de kinder de su hijo(a) este año escolar. Me gustaría contarles un poco sobre mí. Nací en Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, y he vivido en Minnesota desde el año 2000.

En mi país, fui maestra de primaria durante 13 años, simultáneamente también fui catedrática en la universidad durante 4 años. Aquí en Minnesota, enseñé kinder en español en la "Escuela Primaria Roosevelt" durante nueve años y comenzaré mi decimocuarto año en Adams.

Soy licenciada en Educación primaria, tengo un diplomado en educación superior y una maestría en evaluación. También tengo un título de Diseño gráfico. Por muchos años estuve a cargo de caravanas a los museos y de escuela para padres en México.

A mí me gusta mucho el arte, dibujar, pintar y diseñar. Me encanta ser creativa, hacer manualidades y practicar la caligrafía. También me gusta mucho bailar y leer.

Sé lo importante que es hablar dos o más idiomas y estoy muy contenta de ser parte de la Escuela de Inmersión en Español de "Adams". Siendo maestra aquí, tengo la oportunidad de enseñarles a mis estudiantes el idioma español, la cultura latina, el amor a la lectura.

En mi salón de clases, no solo aprenderán letras, números, lectura y escritura, ¡sino que también nos divertiremos! Y lo mejor es... ¡todo en ESPAÑOL!

WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN

Dear parents and guardians,

My name is Laura R. Ferraro, and I will be your child's kindergarten teacher this school year. I want to tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, and I have lived in Minnesota since 2000.

In my home country, I was a primary school teacher for 13 years, and at the same time, I was also a university professor for 4 years.  Here in Minnesota, I taught kindergarten in Spanish at Roosevelt Elementary School for nine years, and I will be starting my fourteenth year at Adams.

I have a degree in Primary Education, a diploma in Higher Education, and a master's degree in Assessment. I also have a degree in Graphic Design. For many years, I was in charge of organizing trips for students and parents to museums and I had a school for parents.

I enjoy art, drawing, painting, and designing. I love being creative, doing crafts, and practicing calligraphy. I also really enjoy dancing and reading.

I know how important it is to speak two or more languages, and I am very happy to be part of the Spanish Immersion School at Adams. As a teacher here, I have the opportunity to teach my students the Spanish language, Latin culture, and a love for reading.

In my classroom, we will not only learn letters, numbers, reading, and writing, but we will also have fun! And the best part is... everything will be in SPANISH!
