Srta. Mackenzie Henson -- Music Teacher

Srta. Henson
  • Hello! My name is Mackenzie (Srta.) Henson and this is going to be my 4th year of teaching, and Adams is where I started teaching! I graduated from Bethel University in the Spring of 2019 with a Bachelor of Music Education with an emphasis on instrumental music, and I am licensed in K-12 Classroom/Instrumental Music.  I strongly believe that each and every student has the right to a music education. Being able to create music is a necessity for a developing mind! If you have any questions or concerns now or during the school year, please do not hesitate to send me an email or give me a call at school. I am thrilled to be your student's music teacher this year and looking forward to a fantastic year!

Please note, unfortunately, I do not speak Spanish, so my class is in English. However, we will learn songs in Spanish and English, and other cultures, respectively, which is something I am looking forward to this school year!

    BIO:

I was born in Estes Park, Colorado and moved to Annadale, Minnesota when I was 3 years old. Graduating from Annadale High School in 2015, I went to Bethel University and graduated there in the spring of 2019. Growing up, I had many interests, including sports, music and being involved in other school activities. I have always had a connection with music starting at a young age, which gave me opportunities to be in honor choirs in elementary school to eventually be a participant in the All-State Symphonic Band in my senior year of high school. At Bethel University, I was the flute section leader and the Bethel Wind Symphony President for two years, giving me plenty of time in front of the group. In my free time I enjoy watching movies, reading books, and hiking around Minnesota. I also enjoy spending time with friends and family, whether it is getting a bite to eat, getting coffee, going to see a movie or taking long walks around the cities.
