Hello!

I am Melinda Vaillant, the part-time School Counselor at Global Arts Plus Lower. This is my first year at GAP and I am excited to be partnering with staff, students, and families to create an inclusive and successful learning environment! I will primarily be supporting 2nd and 4th graders this school year. However, I will provide additional support to all students as needed. This is my fifth year as a School Counselor but I have many years of experience in education, as I was a teacher prior to becoming a School Counselor. 

As a School Counselor, I help guide our scholars in three main areas: Social and Emotional Development, Career Exploration, and Academic Achievement. I will also work in collaboration with students to create and guide their Personal Learning Plans (PLPs).
