Hello!  I am honored to be teaching science in my hometown of Saint Paul, MN as a second generation Saint Paul teacher following in my father's footsteps (the original Mr. Boesel taught 3rd grade for over 30 years in the east side's old Parkway Elementary).  I love turning kids on to the exciting and engaging world of science exploration!  I strive to bring out the scientist in all of my students.  2021 marks my 15th year with Highland Park Middle School and it no doubt will be another great one.  My first 6 years at HPMS I taught 7th grade life science and this year will be my 9th teaching 6th grade physical science.  I will try to make science as hands on and engaging for my new 6th graders as humanly possible.  We will have fun exploring light, sound, energy, forces, engineered systems, chemistry, states of matter, and the metric system (yes, even that can be fun!).  I bring a wide variety of interests to the classroom ranging from camping and hiking to rocking out with one of my bands.  After the schoolday and on weekends I love spending time with my wife and three sons William, Oliver, and Benjamin.  

As far as my classroom expectations go I expect each and every one of my kids to always try their best.  That goes for being on time and prepared, treating others with respect (as well as our classroom materials), and putting forth their best effort on our assessments.
