My name is Alex Slezak and I am one of the five licensed School Counselors that serves students at Johnson High School. I work with grades 9-12 with last names K-Q. As a counselor, I collaborate with students, families, and school staff to find solutions to the challenges that come with being a high school student in the 21st century. This is my first year at Johnson High School.

I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of Minnesota in 2015 and recently completed my Master's of Science in Education in School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

I have experience working as an English teacher in South Korea and as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow with Saint Paul Public Schools. I have also been involved with AVID programming as a student tutor. I am new to the community at Johnson and am eager to learn about the unique strengths that empower students to succeed in learning, mental wellness and fulfilling plans for life after school.

Outside of the Johnson school building, I enjoy exploring the local and state parks of Minnesota, sampling the tastes of the Twin Cities restaurant scene and spending time with friends and family.

I look forward to working with students and family to optimize what the high school experience has to offer. If you have any questions, you can contact me via e-mail or phone.
Best wishes for a successful year at Johnson High School.
