  • The Family and Consumer Sciences department courses are designed to teach valuable living skills to Johnson Senior students. Please note that some classes have prerequisites and some require lab fees or students to purchase their own supplies.

In 2007 Johnson Senior High School's Culinary Arts program received a federal Carl Perkins Grant and St. Paul District support to remodel the existing kitchens into a state-of-the-art industrial commercial kitchen. The transformation has led to a significant increase in student interest in restaurant and food service management. Our courses now focus on the food service industry by allowing students to practice real-life skills with authentic equipment. Students can receive national recognition through completion of certifications from ServSafe, the National Restaurant Association and it's highly acclaimed high school curriculum called ProStart.
