WELCOME to ART at CROSSROADS! 

Ms Marni is excited to welcome your family to Crossroads' art room!

As an arts community, we will reflect on our work while we explore new materials and new techniques and make mistakes and learn from our mistakes! Expect to cut, draw, glue, print, sculpt, clean up, share your art work and have FUN! 

I am looking forward to partnering with parents & guardians as we work together on the path of your child's arts education. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns, questions, or ideas. Thank you for supporting the Arts at Crossroads! 

 

Daily Schedule

• Students will rotate through the Specialists' courses (Science, Technology, Engineering, Physical Education, Health, Art) on a week-long rotation schedule. This means that your student/s will receive Art instruction for one week, every six weeks.

 
• Enrichment classes will attend Art two 50-minute periods a week, the last two periods of the day with the same Specialist the students attended earlier in the day.

  • 7:15 - 7:30       Hall Duty -- at the base of the main staircase.

    7:30 - 7:55     Prep

    7:55 - 8:45.      Period 1 Intermediate grades

    8:45 - 9:35       Period 2 Kindergarten/Children's House/Primary grades

    9:35 - 10:25     Period 3 Primary & Intermediate grades

    10:25 - 11:15   Period 4  Primary & Intermediate grades or Lunch Duty 

    11:15 - 11:40  Prep 

    11:40 - 12:10  Lunch

    12:10 - 1:00     Enrichment M/T/Th/F

ABOUT YOUR CROSSROADS ART TEACHER
 
Ms Marni has been teaching Visual Art since 1997. The 2022-2023 school year will be her 19th year teaching at Crossroads.
 
When not teaching students or grading assignments, Ms Marni enjoys getting out and DOING with friends and family. She and her husband Dave have hosted exchange students from all over the world, including Europe, Asia and South America.  
Ms Marni and Dave live on the East Side of St Paul and have three (step)sons, two dogs (Poppins & Marble), and a small flock of city chickens. When not in the city, Ms Marni loves to travel and explore the outdoors. She spends time with family at the cabin fishing (bass & pike), sailing, kayaking, taking photographs and trips to amusement parks!
 
Ms Marni also enjoys creating and exploring the world of arts and crafts, studying architecture, working with clay, gardening, kite flying, spelunking, and she plays ice hockey on two teams, Chaos & Icebreakers -- and she's a retired Roller Derby Referee, "Nemma Sis Prime."
