I'm 21, have been since November 28. I'll be a senior at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the fall of 2004. I'm majoring in journalism and minoring in French. I've helped to run a student newspaper at UW-Milwaukee for three years, and I've been working as a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the largest newspaper in the state of Wisconsin, since October 2003. My sixth-grade year at Expo was the 1994-1995 school year.
AND NOW SOME NICE THINGS ABOUT MY ALMA MATER:
I would say that Expo played a large - if not the largest - role in teaching me how to interact with one another. Where other schools simply taught an academic curriculum (which Expo did in addition), Expo focused on how students interacted with one another. A large part of elementary school (think about it, between the ages of 5 and 12) is learning how to get along with one another and how to work together as a group, supporting each other. When I got to
junior high school, many of the kids were still trying to figure out just exactly how to relate to their fellow students. Expo emphasized this early on, and it came as second nature to me by the time I moved on.
