Micaela Douglas is a Speech-Language Pathologist at EXPO Elementary School and has worked for Saint Paul Public Schools since 2006.  She has worked at EXPO since 2016.  Micaela belongs to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed by the MN Board of Education.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her Masters of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Minnesota.  

Outside of work, Micaela enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.  She also enjoys exercising, relaxing at coffee shops, and listening to podcasts.  She grew up in Wisconsin, but loves living in the Twin Cities.  She enjoys the strong community connections and the wide variety of activities and events.

Micaela enjoys being part of the EXPO community.  She has a passion for helping her students increase their communication skills, so they can better participate in school, at home, and in their communities.  She is committed to developing strong relationships with her students, their families, and the staff. She provides therapy that is relevant to her students' classroom lessons and is an advocate for the students she works with.  Micaela also believes strongly in teaching self-advocacy skills, so her students can ask for and get the help they need in their classrooms and outside of the school setting.  Micaela is also committed to supporting school-wide efforts to increase all students' oral language and vocabulary development.
