    Elzbieta Murphy

    Elzbieta Murphy Assistant Principal

    Elzbieta began her career with the St. Paul Public Schools District as an EL teacher at Crossroads Montessori and Science Elementary in 2003. Elzbieta spent 11 years teaching on the east side of St. Paul, including at Nokomis Montessori and Frost Lake Elementary. Over the next seven years, Elzbieta served as a supervisor and TOSA in the Office of Multilingual Learning. She developed programs and services for EL students in grades K–12 and revised the Title III program guidance documents. Elzbieta also served on the Committee for College and Career Readiness as part of the district’s Achieve Strategic Plan and ELSIG with MDE. Additionally, she served as a school improvement specialist before accepting her assistant principal position at EXPO Elementary in 2019.

    Elzbieta’s educational experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement. Her educational philosophy is based on the belief that all students can learn when given a positive and safe learning environment, a committed and dedicated team of educators, and a supportive family. All of which, EXPO Elementary possesses.

    Elzbieta graduated from Concordia University with a degree in English as a Second Language. She earned her Master’s degree in education at Hamline University and her Educational Specialist degree and principal licensure from Mankato State University.

    Elzbieta is a native of Poland. She moved to the USA in 1997. Elzbieta currently lives in Woodbury. She has three daughters, and two of them are twins. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature, especially on mountain hikes. She also loves to travel and read.
