I'm Carlos and I have more than 15 years of experience in education, including teaching language learners, math and reading interventions, social-emotional skills, and I also spent several years teaching in the PNW. I live in the Hamline/Midway neighborhood, so you might see me riding my bike or walking with my family. I firmly believe that all students deserve highly qualified tutors to meet them academically and socially-emotionally where they are and take them where they want to go. My current role at Hamline Elementary is the ADSIS teacher.  As the ADSIS teacher, I lead the "Check In, Check Out” program.  This is a program designed to help students meet our school-wide expectations in a positive way. Students using the “Check In, Check Out” program are presented with daily/weekly goals and receive frequent feedback on meeting the goals throughout the day.  The feedback is connected to our learning community expectations.
