Welcome to Creator Space!

Hi there!

My name is Alicia Gustafson (the children call me Ms. Gus) and I am excited to be joining the Hamline community as the Creator Space teacher! This is my first year in this role and at Hamline Elementary, but I have been part of St. Paul Public Schools since 2017 as a Pre-K classroom teacher. Prior to that, I taught kindergarten for 3 years and reading & math intervention for 2 years.

I absolutely love working with and learning from children in Pre-K and kindergarten; their curiosity, joy, and excitement inspire and challenge me each day. This year in Creator Space, we will work together to tap into our curiosities, make connections to the world around us, and develop confidence as inquirers and creators in all different capacities.

I live in St. Paul with my husband, Chris, and our son, Asher. As a family, we love to go for walks and bike rides in our neighborhood, hike and climb mountains, watch Bluey, and eat as much ice cream as humanly possible! I also enjoy practicing yoga, taking care of my houseplants, and exploring my own curiosities about the interconnectedness of our world.
