My name is Matt Wardell. I began my teaching career in the spring of 2022 at Creative Arts Secondary School before coming to Harding Senior High School. I have a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota in English as a Second Language, a Bachelors from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in English Language Linguistics, and a certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I have taught students of all ages K-12, but my passion is working with students at the high school level.

I have been a football coach at Harding since 2015 and I love to work with kids outside of the classroom. When I'm not at school, I love to run and I try to sign up for races as much as I can. I also love spending time with my family up north at the cabin, and spending time out on the lake or in the woods.

I live in St. Paul. I am the youngest of four. My extended family has deep roots in St. Paul and I'm proud to be teaching in this community.

Overall, I am very excited to be at Harding as a teacher after having been a coach for the last several years. It has been a pleasure to serve the Eastside and I look forward to continuing to support students both in and out of the classroom.
