Welcome! I was previously a mentor within Harding for the Dreamline program and now in 2020 I am a Reading teacher for 9th grade Content Acceleration. I grew up mainly in Minnesota and I currently live in Cottage Grove. My undergraduate degree was completed at Minnesota State University Mankato, and earned my Bachelors in Community Health Education, and I currently am still working on my Fine Arts degree. I have also achieved my Master’s degree in English as a Second Language at St. Mary’s University. During both my undergrad and graduate programs I was able to live and study abroad in the Netherlands and Colombia where I also was able to teach abroad. Those experiences have helped to shape and define how I feel about travel, art, and education.

When I am not teaching, I am usually wandering the world and capturing the moments. Travel has been very important in my life for the past 10 years as I have accomplished many of my travel goals, such as visiting every continent.... Antarctica is the last on my list, and it’s a bit of a voyage. I am always trying to travel and find some type of museum or festival to attend so I can document by taking pictures, trying new foods, listening to great music, and anything else that comes up along the way. Beyond travel you can usually find me chilling with my family and friends.  I also "love" the outdoors, animals, photography, drawing, painting, cinemas, sneakers, and to cook...I am a big foodie!

I believe that as a member of the world, an artist, and an educator I will continuously gain awareness of race, identity, and privilege....and will do my best to share my gained perspective with those around me! (students and teachers alike)
