My name is Ingrid O'Brien Avery (Ms. O'Brien) and I'm excited to join the Wellstone staff for the 2022-23 school year!  I am a Multilingual Learner specialist working with the 4/5 BioSmart team.  Before coming to Wellstone, I was a teacher in California for 15 years, working mostly with elementary-age English learners. I have a Bachelor's in Development Studies from Brown University, and a Master's in Linguistics and a PhD in Educational Linguistics from Stanford.  When I'm not at school, I love spending time with my husband, my two boys, and our little dog, Peter.  We like to cook, go for walks, read, and watch TV together! I look forward to working with your student this year.

Soy una especialista en aprendizaje multilingüe que trabaja con el equipo 4/5 BioSmart. Antes de venir a Wellstone, era maestro en California durante 15 años, trabajando principalmente con estudiantes de inglés de primaria. Tengo una Licenciatura en Estudios de Desarrollo de la Universidad Brown, una Maestría en Lingüística y un Doctorado en Lingüística Educativa de Stanford. Cuando no estoy en la escuela, me encanta pasar tiempo con mi esposo, mis dos hijos y nuestro perrito, Peter. ¡Nos gusta cocinar, pasear, leer y ver la tele juntos!
