Hello! Welcome to the 2022-2023 School Year with the Online High School! 

My name is Amanda Rivera Diaz. I was born in Eschenbach, Bavaria, Germany, but was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I graduated from Milwaukee School of Languages. I speak French, Spanish and English, and am learning American Sign Language. I graduated from Marquette University in 2014 with my Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with focuses on International Business, Finance and French and a minor in Spanish. I am currently completing my Master's of Education in Second Language Education with the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities with an emphasis on EAL and Spanish. 

Language and education have been my life and are my passion, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share this with the wonderful families and educational community of St. Paul.  

As the EAL Teacher for Juniors (11) and Seniors (12), I work closely with many of the teachers at the Online High School. This year I will be co-teaching in ELA 11 & 12 with Mr. Hansen, and support Algebra 2 with Ms. Deitchler and Chemistry with Mr. Northey. I also have English Language Development sessions available for students during my office hours from 2:05-2:45pm. My focus is on the accessibility of language and content for our Multilingual Learners. 

Fun facts: I have three little girls and seven pets that keep us busy! On the rare moments that I get free time, I love to go to the Minnesota Zoo and to bake. Learners will frequently hear me make references to food.
