Sarah Miller, "Ms. Sarah" (she/her) Special Education Teacher

Grades 6-9, Federal Setting 3 ASD/DCD Program

Hello! My name is Ms. Sarah and I work with students in grades 6-9 who receive special education programming for the majority of the day.

I love learning and working with young people. After earning my bachelor’s degree in Education, English, and Youth Studies from the University of Minnesota in 2006, I have been working as a special education paraeducator in a variety of settings.  For nine of those years, I worked at Maplewood Middle School. I earned my master’s degree and teaching license in December 2020 from the University of Minnesota.

Similar to the students I teach, I was a student when my in-person classes moved online.  I then completed my student teaching experience 100% online.  My experiences of learning and teaching online during the pandemic have helped prepare me to teach special education students at SPPS Online Schools and meet the needs of my students in creative ways.

During my free time, I enjoy a variety of crafts such as knitting, sewing, and jewelry-making.  I also love to do logic puzzles and go out to eat with friends.  I live with my cat, Eris, who is appropriately named after the goddess of chaos.
